THE GOLDEN REGS
The rules of the Proxima sim are simple and most of us Simmers already know them.

  • Only write for your PC, your Linked NPCs (also called "Secondaries") and the "Public" (Unlinked) NPCs. Avoid controlling anyone else's PCs or secondary characters unless they have given you explicit permission in Discord or by Nova DM (in this case, please put an OOC note at the bottom of the joint post).

  • Avoid "Metagaming:" using your out of character knowledge to give your player characters in-game knowledge they would not otherwise have.

  • Avoid "God Syndrome" or "Superheroism." Please stick to your character's biography and don't spontaneously generate new skills or talents to solve a crisis or give your character an edge.

  • Keep OOC Drama Out. While this Sim's GMs hope to create a "Proxima Family" we recognize that its possible not everyone is going to get along. If you have a beef with a player, keep it out of the Sim and off the public Discord. If you are having issues with bullying or intimidation from another player, PLEASE contact the GMs immediately!

    THE RAINBOW REGS
    This Sim intends to be a safe place where Black, Brown, and all LGBTQ+ persons can feel included and able to explore their own fictions. We recognize that eliminating these "Isms" in our society is a process that can't be fixed with a snap of a finger.

  • Engaging in out-of-character prejudice towards players, either directly or indirectly, will not be tolerated. At the same time, we will approach any offender with understanding and allow them restorative justice to those they offended.

  • Willful, repetitive, or blatantly offensive actions will result in the GMs asking the offender to leave. Up until then, we would be happier to talk and help foster understanding with diverse groups.

  • Please come into this game with your best intentions toward those different than you.

    THE REST OF THE REGS
    The rest of the sim regulations are as follows. Please familairize yourself with them when you join (but again, its pretty standard).

    POSTING FREQUENCY

  • The minimum expected posting frequency is one post a month for "non-Chief" main characters and your personal NPCs and two posts a month for a "Chief" main character. Joint Posts count as a Post.

  • Personal Logs are optional but do not count as a Post.

  • If you are in a post or mission, please do your best to address your tags consistently. We need you.

    SIM AND POST RATINGS

    This Sim is limited to persons at least 16 years of age and rated 2-2-2 by RPG Rating. If you aren't familiar with this system, CLICK HERE. A 2-2-2 rating means:

  • Mature language and swearing is permitted with some limitations (nothing excessive or inflammatory toward minorities etc).

  • Scenes with sex are "fade to/from black" before/after penetration and/or coitus. An act of sex can be mentioned, initiated or concluded but not described.

  • Mentioning sexual arousal or sexual touch is permitted.

  • Scenes of sexual contact with/between children is prohibited.

  • Nudity is permitted but please don't go into gratuitous or repetitive detail.

  • Scenes of violence can be depicted, but can't be excessive or described in gory detail. Keep it "fleeting."

  • We do not permit scenes or character backstories with sexual violence or sexual violence/contact toward children, etc.

  • When/if your scene contains sexual contact, please tag it as 18+ in the tags section located under the text area of the post. This filters it from public view.

    We understand that some people enjoy writing sexual scenes. We suggest Google Docs or a similar shareable doc for those steamy, fun times. ;)
