Welcome to the Starship Proxima!

Operating out of Deep Space Station Lambda-2, on the border of Klingon space, the Starship Proxima is one of the first lines of defense for the Federation. Recently refitted, the Proxima boasts the most advanced layout of the venerable Constitution-class starships to date.

Suspected Klingon-backed pirates and Gorn hunting parties have long been problems in this part of the Federation, but a certain political balance has generally prevailed. Operating this close to the Klingon Empire and Gorn Hegemony has always held risks for Starfleet and Federation members. However, Project Genesis has dramatically altered and, by some reckoning, destroyed any semblance of peace.

Klingon raiders brazenly cross the border to harass shipping and disrupt commerce. There is even concern that Romulans could be attempting to pit the Klingons and Federation against one another. While the Hegemony appears unconcerned by the Genesis effect in the region, they are more than happy to resupply their food stores.
