IN THE 23RD CENTURY.....

Klingon raiders, Orion pirates and Gorn hunters have been problems along the Neutral Zone and the Federation's Rim for decades, but a fragile political balance has held fast since the 2260's. The Federation maintains peace and authority on its side of the Neutral Zone with a chain of deep space stations.

Deep Space Station Lambda-2 is one such outpost. It lies precariously close to Klingon space between Donatu and Arcanis Sectors. The Starship Proxima is part of Starfleet's first line of defense there. Recently refitted, the Proxima boasts the most advanced layout of the venerable Constitution-class starships to date.

Genesis

Project Genesis and its fallout has dramatically altered- by some reckoning, destroyed- any semblance of the status quo. The Klingons are sure its a weapon. Various criminal syndicates want to steal the technology. Some Federation worlds are uncomfortable with the idea.

Klingon raiders- often from Houses D'Ghor, Kor and Duras- have begun brazenly violating the Neutral Zone to harass shipping and test Federation mettle. There is even concern that Romulan agents could be attempting to pit the Klingons and Federation against one another. The Hegemony remains enigmatic to their neighbors and care little about this "world-making," but sense an opportunity to restock the larders of their hunting ships and hatchery worlds.

Mission: Prelude: The Gathering
Posted on Mon Nov 10th, 2025 @ 8:19pm by Lieutenant Alexander Beckett

Deep Space Station Lambda-2 was alive with motion — the kind of organized chaos that always accompanied a ship taking on crew. Cargo drones drifted overhead, hissing through clouds of vapor. The air smelled faintly of coolant, coffee, and fresh paint.

Lieutenant Alexander Beckett walked the docking concourse at an easy pace, duffel over his shoulder, eyes everywhere. He didn’t look like he was inspecting anything, but he was. It was a habit — and an old one.

Ahead, the airlock to USS Proxima gleamed with a fresh coat of Starfleet gray, her registry stenciled neatly above it. Beside the…

Mission: Prelude: The Gathering
Posted on Sat Nov 8th, 2025 @ 5:09pm by Doctor Kim Standish & Lieutenant Commander Jethro "Jet" Romanowski

Jet took a sip from his coffee mug before returning it to it's saucer before rubbing his eyes. Splayed out in front of him were numerous schematics and PADDs as he poured through each one. One of the many duties of a newly commissioned starship's chief engineer was to verify that the ship's construction drawings matched with what the yard worker's actually installed. While Proxima wasn't the first in her class, she was the most modern. There had been several systems that had been upgraded, but mating them with an older ship design always presented some challenges. One of the…

Mission: Prelude: The Gathering
Posted on Sat Oct 4th, 2025 @ 8:22pm by Doctor Kim Standish & Lieutenant Lioren Daeval

The lights in Sickbay were cooler than the rest of the ship. Not dim, but neutral, clinical. The air carried the faint tang of sterilization fields and warmed instrument panels, undercut by a sharp botanical note, like antiseptic with a sense of purpose. It was quiet, for now. A few biobeds stood in standby, their monitors idly blinking, as if waiting for someone to matter.

Lieutenant Daeval stepped through the doors with a calm, practiced pace. He wore his uniform jacket fastened, the sharp lines settled over his frame with a kind of ceremonial grace. A small case in his…

Mission: Prelude: The Gathering
Posted on Mon Sep 29th, 2025 @ 10:20pm by Captain Mac Sullivan & Lieutenant Commander Kirak & Lieutenant Eve West & Lieutenant Lioren Daeval

The corridor leading to the docking bay was quiet, save for the distant hiss of hydraulic doors and the occasional echo of boots on duranium flooring panels. The station personnel moved briskly around corners, exchanging clipped updates or pulling cargo crates toward waiting transport vessels. Deep Space Station Lambda-2 wasn’t glamorous, but it was functional. Cold, clean, and orderly in the way only am outpost on the edge of the patrol lanes could be.

Lioren Daeval stood with his hands clasped loosely behind his back near the access gate to Shuttle A-9. His travel satchel rested neatly by his feet,…

Mission: Regula Gambit
Posted on Wed Sep 24th, 2025 @ 4:49am by Captain Mac Sullivan & Lieutenant Alijas Dyrgen

[Space Lab Regula One]

The cards slapped against the makeshift table as Reeves dealt another hand, the security team's laughter echoing through the cramped quarters they'd set up in Regula One's auxiliary lab. Weeks of this assignment had worn down their initial vigilance to a dull routine of waiting while their "specialist" did whatever it was he did with those Genesis databases.

"Full house, ladies and gentlemen," Rodriguez declared, slapping down a winning hand while Chen groaned and Morrison muttered something about "damn lucky streaks." Reeves was already shuffling for the next round, and even Ka'rel's stoic expression showed the…

Commander's Log... Stardate 8233.4.
Shuttlecraft Toliman is en route to Deep Space Station Lambda-2 near the Klingon planet Krios Prime. I have left Federation space and am traveling along non-aligned shipping lanes- the Ardana-Valt Trade Corridor. Ardanan authorities sent Starfleet a code yellow notice of Klingon raiding activities in the area over the last month. I am monitoring an Orion hauling craft on a parallel course bearing 251 mark 011.

I have been reassigned from the U.S.S. Ibn Battuta to the U.S.S. Proxima as First Officer and Chief Navigator. My databanks confirms The Proxima is one of the remaining Constitution-class…
