Hobbies & Interests Curh is private and keeps to himself mostly. His spare time is usually spent reading classical Human literature and comparing it to Andorian works from the same period.

Personal History Curh was born in 2245 in Lor’Tan on Andor. He was the only child to his parents Atihr and Vetaa Thyvn. Born into a prestigious family steeped in service to the Andorian people, Curh’s father Atihr was a career bureaucrat. He was the Regional Governor for Lor’Tan. Curh’s mother, Vetaa, was from a much simpler background. While her family was well known on Andor, she had chosen a career in medicine. With this strong background in service, Curh was raised to follow his father’s footsteps in the government. However, Curh never enjoyed studying diplomacy or politics. Rather he developed an interest in engineering, spending his off hours taking apart and reassembling various household appliances to better understand their function. His parents tried to refocus his attention on civil service, but Curh was extremely hard headed. Curh also yearned to see more of the galaxy than just the ice of Andor. At the age of twenty, he announced his intentions to join Starfleet, which was met with surprise and shock from his parents. Curh convinced them that he would still be following the family tradition of service, but service to the Federation rather than just the Andorian Empire. It took some convincing, but Atihr was finally persuaded to assent to Curh’s application to the Starfleet Academy on Earth. Upon entering the Academy, Curh excelled in the basic engineering courses and declared his intent to pursue a career in engineering. Curh was an exceptional student while at the academy, and this was mainly due to his devotion to his studies. Growing up in a prominent family had left him ill-prepared for the social pressures of Starfleet, and Curh tended to focus more on school than socializing. While he did make friends, he was always known as a particularly quiet man. Curh’s midshipman rotation was aboard the USS Jackson, where it was noted he demonstrated a keen attention to detail by catching a serious defect in the warp core housing that had occurred when the ship had been in spacedock. Upon graduating from the Academy, Curh began his professional career in starfleet serving on the USS Montreal, a Soyuz class starship as a diagnostic engineer. After receiving a commendation from his commanding officer, Curh was transferred to the USS St. Lo as a third engineer. The St. Lo was an overworked Miranda class that was in rough shape when Curh reported aboard. He distinguished himself once again by turning his assigned division with one the worst efficiency ratings aboard into the model division. Earning himself another commendation, Curh was placed on the fast track for engineering command and assigned as the Assistant Chief Engineer aboard the USS Shiloh. The Shiloh would be his first deep exploration vessel, and Curh found the work rewarding. After four years, he was promoted to Chief Engineer of the Shiloh when the previous Chief Engineer retired. Upon return from its mission, the Shiloh was slated for a massive overhaul, and Curh was given his choice of assignment. Curh chose the new Constitution class refit USS Proxima, where he was posted as the vessel’s first Chief Engineer.
